sometimes the fortune is better than the cookie...
"If you can't decide up or down try moving from side to side."
I got this fortune from Ho-Ho China Chef (one of my favorite monikers for a Chinese Restaurant) on Sunday. I'm not really sure what it means, but I kinda like it.
So, if you see me walking sideways down the street some day soon, you'll know that it's all because of Ho-Ho.

"moving from side to side" just makes me think of those little crabs on the wet sand at the beach.
Hmmm... so maybe the answer is to glean wisdom from crabs.
I'll start by studying the crabs in "Finding Nemo":
"Hey - Hey - Heyyyy - Heyyyyy"
My interpretations:
If you can't make a decision, try looking at it from different perspectives.
-or-
If you are stuck on a problem, do something else, and come back to it later.
I've been stumbling across a lot of right brain stuff lately. Seems like taking a conscience break from a problem turns out to be a great way to let your right brain (which is better at creative and spatial reasoning) work on it.
Hurray...my first comment. I'm such a nerd.
Sometimes I feel like my right brain has gone AWOL, but your interpretation has proven true for me. I've had two big work problems that were solved when I wasn't at my computer, because I wasn't focusing on them. Just like that old adage says... shoot, I forgot what it says... Something about finding what you're not looking for? You get the idea.
Oh, and welcome to Nerdville, hermano.
